Barbara Marsh Slaughter, 68, of Graham, NC, passed away at her residence on Friday, March 20, 2020.
A native of Green Brook, NJ, she was the daughter of Ruth Goess Marsh and the late Wilfred B. Marsh and wife of James W. Slaughter. She was a member of Graham Presbyterian Church. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology from Douglass College (Women’s Division of Rutgers University). She worked as a microbiologist performing stem cell research at Dupont Children’s Hospital in Wilmington, DE and was a call center manager at Bank of New York (later becoming Chase Bank).
Survivors include her husband, James W. Slaughter of the home; mother, Ruth Goess Marsh of Wilmington, DE; sisters, Marilyn Marsh of New York, NY and Catherine Greeff (Carl) of Los Alamos, NM; brothers, Philip Marsh (Kathy) of Wilmington, DE and Richard Marsh (Vickie) of Petersburg, TX; step-daughters, Susan Martin (Robert) of Walkersville, MD and Mary Wilson (Fiancé Chris Moss); step-granddaughters, Konnor Wilson and Kennedy Wilson, all from Wake Forest, NC; step-grandson, Kendall Wilson of Wake Forest, NC, and a multitude of loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
In light of the recent restrictions due to Coronavirus, the family will hold a private memorial service on Monday, March 23rd, 2020.
