Mrs. Audrey Capps Askew, 90, of Burlington passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 following a brief illness.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Charles Richard Askew, Sr. and the daughter of Dewey Capps and Roxie Muzetta Isley Capps, both deceased. Mrs. Askew was a homemaker and spent her time caring for her family. She was a member of Bellemont United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Gayle A. Cartner and husband Jimmy of Graham and Julie A. Bradshaw and husband Coyle of Graham; son, Ritchie Askew, Jr. and wife Kim of Burlington; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sister, Frances Capps Nichols of Burlington; half-brother, Dewey Capps of Burlington; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa A. May and six brothers.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Farron Duncan. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
