Obituary

Anne Marshall Pope, 76, of Brookdale Assisted Living in Burlington passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021.

A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Walter Eugene Pope and the daughter of James D. Marshall and Pearl Clapp Marshall McLelland, both deceased. She was a retired employee from General Electric and a member of Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a step son, Kevin Eugene Pope and wife Amy of Burlington; step grandson, Tyler Pope; sister, Dale Marshall Hooper and husband Clem of Burlington; niece, Tonya Harrison of Mebane; two great nieces, Alex Pilkington and Meredith Parker and husband Russell; two great nephews, Zack Johnson and wife Kayla and Andrew Johnson; one great great niece, Zoey Pilkington; three great great nephews, Bryson and Mason Parker and Cash Johnson; four step siblings, Lewis “Lukie” Clemmer, Jr. and wife Joyce, Louise Sharpe and husband Gary, Lawrence Clemmer and wife Ann, and Linda Sharpe and husband Cookie; and her first husband and dear friend of the family, Jimmy Staley.

The family will have a private service at a later date. Mrs. Pope will be available for viewing at the funeral home on Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 11:30 until 4:00 pm.
