Ann Braxton Hayes

Mrs. Ann Braxton Hayes, of Burlington, passed away at the Village at Brookwood on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 4:27 p.m.

A native of Alamance County, she was a loving and wonderful wife to Dr. James W. Hayes, III, who survives and the daughter of Lonnie Adolphus Braxton and Ethel Drumwright Braxton, both deceased. Mrs. Hayes was formerly employed as office manager for Dr. Abernethy and Dr. Gaddy. She was a member of Davis Street United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband of the home, survivors include many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Braxton Hall and Rosalie Braxton Vanderford and one brother, Lonnie Adolphus Braxton, Jr.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Edgar De Jesus. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m., prior to the service.

Dr. Hayes would like to extend his sincere gratitude to Leigh Davis and Joe Vanderford. They all would like to thank the staff at Edgewood Place and Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell for their gracious care of Ann.
