Mr Abner Victor Slaughter

Abner Victor Slaughter, 84, of Graham passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 following three weeks of critical illness.

A native of Craven County, NC, he was the husband of Patsy Newton Slaughter, who survives and the son of Charlie Bratcher Slaughter and Bertha May Slaughter, both deceased. He retired from Burlington Industries and was a member of New Covenant Fellowship Church.

In addition to his wife of their home, survivors include two daughters, Tara Slaughter Massey and husband Jeff of Graham and Amy Slaughter Marshall and husband Clay of Columbia, SC; son, Thomas Victor Slaughter of Burlington; four grandchildren, Kristen Massey, Brittany Massey, Jacob Slaughter, and Katelyn Slaughter; sister, Margaret Medlin of Pleasant Garden; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.

A memorial service will be conducted on their 61st wedding anniversary on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham by Rev. David Neff with the family receiving friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
