Mr. Wayne Talbert, 59, of Burlington, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 6:16 p.m. at Alamance Regional Medical Center.


A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Sharon Lewis Talbert, who survives and the son of the late Kenneth Talbert and Julia Lashley Talbert, who survives.  Mr. Talbert was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from the N.C. Department of Corrections. He was past president and member of the State Employees Association of North Carolina. Mr. Talbert was a member of the Lamb’s Chapel.  He enjoyed playing in the Seniors Softball League.


In addition to his wife of the home and mother of Burlington, survivors include two daughters, Jordan Scearce and Olivia Shields, both of Caswell County; sister, Angela Bowman and husband Harold of Burlington; brother, Jerry Talbert of Burlington; step-daughter, Amber Gravely of Gibsonville; two granddaughters, Kendall Nichole Lamberth and husband Jordan and McKenzie Brooke Hedrick; and his loving dog, Macy.


The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Sunday, May 19, 2019 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m.


A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.
