H.M. "Chip" Rhodes

Managing Partner

Born in Davidson County, North Carolina, Chip was raised in Burlington and splits his time between Burlington and Wilmington. He is married to Peggy Jo Durham Rhodes. Chip and Peggy have two children, Kelly and Skipper. They also have four grandchildren, Taylor, Victoria, Grant and Garrett Bradshaw. Chip is a graduate of Cummings High School and attended Elon College. He graduated from Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta. He is past President and Board member of the Burlington Kiwanis Club.  He has served as an Advisory Board member of Alamance County Habitat for Humanity. Chip has been honored with the George F. Hixson Fellowship by the Burlington Kiwanis Club.


Roy Z. Glasgow, Jr.

Manager-Graham, NC

A native of Alamance County, Roy and his wife, Mary Peterson Glasgow, reside in the Village of Alamance. They have two daughters, Emily and husband Adam, and Deana and husband Dylan. He is a graduate of Southern Alamance High School and Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta, where he was the Valedictorian and attended Elon College. He is a member of St. Mark's Church, Past President, Secretary and Athletic Treasurer for the Alamance Civitan Club and was awarded the Civitan of the Year for three years and received the Club Honor Key in 1996. Roy serves on the Planning Board for the Village of Alamance and is a volunteer with the Alamance Medical Reserve Corps. He is a member of the Burlington Shag Club, Alamance County Wildlife Club and enjoys hunting, fishing, boating and his granddogs.


Kerry Scott Rhodes

Manager-Burlington, NC

A native of Alamance County, Scott is married to Patricia Brannock Rhodes. They have two children, Delaney and Cameron. Scott is a graduate of Cummings High School in Burlington and Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta. He is a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Scott formerly served as a volunteer with the National Disaster Medical Systems' DMORT Family Assistance Team and DMORT’s Region 4 team.  He first served with DMORT during the aftermath of Hurricane Floyd in North Carolina and had multiple deployments to Mississippi and Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina. Scott also assisted after the Joplin, Missouri tornado and with the crash of Comair Flight 5181 in Lexington, Kentucky.  His wife Patricia is a partner with the firm of Stout, Stuart, McGowen and King, LLP. Delaney is a junior at Meredith College in Raleigh and Cameron is a junior at Williams High School. Scott has recently reacquired his interest in drone piloting and enjoys spending his free time flying with Cameron.



Christopher D. Rhodes

  • A native of Alamance County, Chris is married to Susanne Fuqua Rhodes. They have two sons, William Ladd "Will" and Samuel James "Sam". Chris is a graduate of Cummings High School in Burlington and the Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta. Chris is a member of Front Street United Methodist Church in Burlington. Chris is also a member of the Alamance Business Club, which assists children with special needs. He is the Director of the Northern Alamance Athletic Club that provides various sports programs for the youth of Alamance County.



Bobby T. Hornaday


A native of Alamance County, Bobby resides in Burlington with his wife Natalie and their two children, Carson and Jackson. Bobby graduated from Cummings High School in Burlington and from the Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta. Bobby is a member of the Lakeview Community Church. When he is not working, you can find Bobby and his family at Western Alamance football games watching his son play and on the weekends at UNC-W watching his daughter dance.



Kyle N. Emerich III


A native of Delaware County, New York, Kyle is married to Lindsay Sipple Emerich. They have three children, Landon, Noah and Claire. Kyle is a graduate of Downsville Central School in Downsville, where he was a member of the National Honor Society. He later graduated from Fayetteville Technical Community College with a degree in Funeral Service Education. His wife Lindsay is a Registered Nurse at Alamance Regional Medical Center working in the Special Care Nursery. Kyle and his family enjoy outdoor activities and traveling. They attend St. Mark’s Church in Burlington.



Brandi Wellons Kellis


A native of Alamance County, Brandi is the daughter of Gene and Teresa Breashears Wellons. She graduated from Southern Alamance High School in 2003, and Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta in 2009. Brandi and her husband Barry live in Burlington with their two children Landon and Autumn. Her husband Barry works for AC Corporation in Greensboro in the IT Department. They attend Harvest Baptist Church.



Paul L. Richardson

Paul is a native of Burlington. He is the son of Nelson Richardson and Janice Plumblee. He is married to his wife Irene and has two stepchildren, Dorian and Camryn. He graduated from Western High School in 2000 and Elon University in 2004 with a BA in Sociology. Paul is also a 2008 graduate of Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta, where he served as treasurer of Phi Sigma Eta Fraternity. In his spare time he enjoys spending time in Charlotte and Asheville and is an avid European soccer enthusiast.


Rodney Vance Gerringer


A native of Alamance County, Rodney is married to Cindy Knighten Gerringer. They live in Burlington and have two children, Tiffany and Tamra and four grandchildren, Tyson, Alaysia, Aiden and Raegan. Rodney is a graduate of Cummings High School in Burlington and the Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta. Rodney is an active  member of Kinnett Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoys bass guitar and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.



Rita Hall Ingram

Rita was born on October 21, 1955 and grew up in Burlington, NC. She is a 1974 graduate of Western Alamance High School.  In 1978, she graduated from Appalachian State University receiving a Management (BSBA) Degree specializing in Healthcare Management. Rita joined Rich and Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in March of 1985 as Funeral Home Office Coordinator to help serve and bring comfort to families at the loss of a loved one. She is a member and pianist of St. Luke's United Methodist Church where she assists with the children's programs and various committees. She loves spending time with her family and friends and her interests include music and sports.


Rita has been married to Joey L. Ingram since November 10, 1979. They have been blessed with two children, Jarred Ingram and wife Christina, Jessica and husband A.J. Lamm; three grandchildren, Joseph Lee Cates, Alena Ann and Burch Aaron Ingram; and four step-grandchildren, Devin Cates, Macy, McKenzie and Michael Lamm. She is the daughter of Lois Massey Hall and the late Joe Burch "J.B." Hall.


S. Lloyd Carter

A native of Reidsville, North Carolina, Lloyd and his wife, Ethel Ann Carter, currently reside in Burlington. They have 2 sons, Wesley and Bryant. Lloyd graduated from the Reidsville City School System and from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He is a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Lloyd has actively served his community through various offices at his church. He is a member of the Alamance Rotary Club, having served in all offices, including President and Board member. He is a member of Burlington Masonic Lodge 721 AF&AM;, the Burlington Shrine Club and is a Paul Harris Fellow through Rotary.


James R. Guthrie

A resident of Graham, North Carolina, Jim is married to Amy Wood Guthrie. They have a daughter, Jamie Guthrie Park, and two grandchildren, Braden and Jaecyn. He is a graduate of Graham High School, the Technical Institute of Alamance and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Jim is a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, the Optimist Club of Graham, the Graham Lions Club, where he is a Marvin Jones Fellow for Lions International and a former member of the Graham Jaycees, where he received the Distinguished Service Award and the Man of the Year Award. Jim has also received the Distinguished Service Award presented by the Graham Merchants Association and the Outstanding Citizens Award presented by the City of Graham.

Eddie is a retired Burlington City Firefighter and the husband of Lisa Bell Foster. Lisa is the Office Manager for the Alamance County Chamber of Commerce. They have two children, Sarah Stallings and Steven Foster.

Dianne Andrews

A native of Burlington, Dianne resides in Leasburg, North Carolina with her husband, Johnny, who is also employed with Rich and Thompson. Dianne is a graduate of Eastern Alamance High School, and attended Alamance Community College. She has one daughter, Brandy McCandless and husband Troy, two grandchildren, Aidan and Camden. Dianne works full-time with the Alamance County Fire Marshal/Emergency Management Office and has worked part-time with Rich and Thompson since 2013. Often asked why  she works part-time at Rich and Thompson, Dianne replies, " That's easy to answer, it's because of the kindness, understanding and compassion that was shown to me when my parents passed away. I just want to show that kindness to others during their time of loss." In her spare time, she enjoys time with her family, cooking, gardening, hiking, and spending time with her pets, BoZo, Simba, and Miss Priss.


Johnny Andrews

Johnny is a native of Graham, and resides in Leasburg, NC with his wife, Dianne, who is also employed with Rich and Thompson. Johnny is a graduate of Graham High School and UNC Hospitals Paramedic Program. He served Alamance County as a 911 Telecommunicator and Paramedic.  He retired from Alamance County as an EMS Supervisor with 31 years of service and continues to work part-time with Alamance County EMS. Johnny has been employed with Rich and Thompson part-time since 1993. The Graham location has received  several beautification awards for the landscaping, with the help of Johnny and Dianne planting Spring and Fall flowers. During his spare time, he enjoys creating projects, landscaping, grilling, gardening and time with family, including pets, BoZo, Simba and Miss Priss.

Jennifer Smith

Assistant Office Manager

A native of Alamance County, North Carolina, Jennifer is married to Steve Smith and they have three children, Hallie, Mack and Charlie. She is a graduate of Graham High School and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Jennifer is an active member of Front Street United Methodist Church and enjoys volunteering in the community and at her children’s schools. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and has a passion for mission work locally and internationally. She began working at Rich and Thompson in February of 2018.




Patricia Rhodes

Patricia is the wife of Scott Rhodes, Location Manager for Rich and Thompson in Burlington.  Patricia is a CPA and a Partner with Stout, Stuart, McGowen and King, LLP.


Pat Dunnagan

Ambassador

Pat is a native of Alamance County and was married to the late Tommy Dunnagan. They were married for 48 wonderful years until his death in 2012. Tommy and Pat had two sons,  William, who died at the very early age of eight and Christopher. Christopher is an defense attorney in Boone, North Carolina and his wife, Kim is a teacher there.  Pat has two grandchildren, Arabella and Annalisa. She is retired with 30 years service from General Dynamics and has been with Rich and Thompson part time since 2004. Pat attends The Lambs Chapel where she is a greeter. She also is an active volunteer  at the John Robert Kernodle Senior Center. In her spare time, Pat enjoys traveling with her friends and spending time with her family, son and especially her grandchildren.
