Sammie Odell “Pete” May

Sammie Odell “Pete” May, 77, of Burlington, passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at 11:46 p.m.
 
A native of Alamance County, he was husband of the late Diane Venable May and the son of John W. May and Maggie Jones May, both deceased. Pete was retired from the textile industry and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Staley Memorial Baptist Church in Burlington.
 
Survivors include two sons, Sammie O. May, Jr. and his wife, Randa Lajune of Surfside Beach, SC and Thomas L. May of Burlington; two sisters, Loreane Faucette of Haw River and Ruby Costner of Haw River; and two brothers, James L. May of Graham and Floyd E. May of Burlington.
 
A funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. by Rev. Bennie Smith. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence.
