Mrs Sally Irene Svee

Sally Irene (Rake) Svee, 83, of Graham, NC, died December 11, 2017 after a brief illness. Sally was born and raised in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Her interests in music and writing were shared throughout her lifetime with those she loved. After beginning a career in southern California with the local phone company and United Airlines, Sally met and married the love of her life, Norman Svee.

World travel and four children followed with frequent moves for Norm’s deployments, ending in their move to North Carolina in 1983 and they lived in Graham for the remainder of their lives. Norman and Sally were deeply loved by their many friends and admired by everyone they encountered.
 
Sally joined the Burlington Writer’s Club where she became a vital presence and made many dear friends. She was a prolific author publishing many books of poetry and short fiction as well as several novels. Sally and her sister (Deane Marsh) collaborated to publish a family newsletter, which united many relatives from all across the country. Sally also enjoyed gardening, puzzles and playing word games with anyone willing.
 
Sally is survived by daughters Gail Ghabour and Denise Cox, sons John and Eric Svee, five granddaughters (Callie, Amy, Allie, Sammi, and Lexi), three grandsons (Josh, Cole, and Logan), three great-grandsons (Sebastian, Benjamin, and Tyler), and one great-granddaughter (Mickaylah). She also leaves behind her cherished sister Deane Marsh, and her much-loved in-laws – Jerry & Sandy Svee and Janice & Jim Stewart, and many other extended family and friends who loved her deeply.
 
A memorial service will be held at a later date
