Myrtle O. "Dootsie" Moore

Mrs. Myrtle O. “Dootsie” Moore, 100, of Burlington passed away at Edgewood Place on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 11:45 p.m.

A native of Campbell County, VA, she was the wife of the late G. O. Barnes and the late J. Marshall Moore and the daughter of Leroy Albert Osborne and Rosa Lee Cassidy Osborne, both deceased.  Myrtle was retired from Copeland Fabrics and she attended Northside Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Moore is survived by her daughter, Diane Penland and her husband, Hubert of Elon; two granddaughters, Kimberly Bowes and Jennifer Trost; six great grandchildren, Deanna Capell and her husband Jordan, Dalton Bowes, Delilah Bowes, Tori Trost, James Trost and Timothy Trost; and a great-great granddaughter, Jennings Capell.

In addition to her two husbands and parents, Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her son, Lt. J. G. “Jack” Barnes; five sisters; and one brother.

A graveside service will be conducted at Graham Memorial Park on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
