Mildred "Mickey" S. Shoffner

Mrs. Mildred “Mickey” S. Shoffner, 88, of Burlington, died on Friday, November 24, 2017 at the Hospice Home in Burlington.

A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Cecil Ridge Shoffner, and the daughter of Homer J. Shockley and Lucy Dupree Shockley, both deceased. She retired from the textile industry that included working at Dixie Bell in Gibsonville, and finally as a supervisor for Sweaters USA in Burlington. Mickey was a loyal, devoted, and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, and treasured her great grandson, Asher Ridge Murrell who brought joy to her over the last years.

Survivors include her daughter, Gina S. Foust and husband DeWayne of Burlington; two grandchildren, Amy Murrell and husband Shannon of Gibsonville and April Dawn Nichols and her significant other, Kenny Perry of Burlington; four step grandchildren, Kristin Bellamie and wife Crystal of Burlington, Amber Bohannon and husband Brandon of Burlington, Caleb Foust and wife Christy of Burlington, and Megan Lindgren and husband Chris of Burlington; eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Dexter Ridge Shoffner and James Earl Shoffner; her daughter in law, Donna H. Shoffner; two sisters, Annie Ruth Felts and Jewel S. Lamberth; her brother, Homer J. Shockley, Jr.; and two great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Alamance Memorial Park with Rev. Larry R. Foust and Pastor Dave Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the graveside service at Rich and Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington from 12:30-1:30 PM and at other times will be at the residence of her daughter, Gina.
