Margaret "Arlene"Leingang

Mrs. Margaret “Arlene” Leingang, 79, of Gibsonville and much loved wife and mother, died at her residence on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 4:17 a.m.

Arlene was the loving wife of 56 years to Robert Leingang, who survives, and the daughter of Arland James Smith and Margaret Mary Farrelly Smith, both deceased. Although born in New York, NY she considered herself a Californian, growing up and living in the Bay Area for over 40 years. She was a homemaker who loved to cook and create original recipes. Arlene and Robert (“Bob”) became avid travelers when Bob’s job took them overseas in 1982. They lived in Saudi Arabia and Taiwan, and traveled to countless countries over the years, taking in sights and experiences such as Safaris in Kenya, St. Petersburg, Russia, Chiang Mai, Thailand, Fjordland in Norway, Bali, Indonesia and The Hebrides in Scotland, to name just a few.

In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Leslie Peregoy and husband Jeffrey of Mebane, NC and Lisa Leingang Petrizzo and husband John of New York, NY; one brother, Arland Smith; and she was a proud grandmother to three grandchildren, Sydney Peregoy, Joseph Peregoy and Annabel Petrizzo.

The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m.
