Margaret Burton Jobe

Mrs. Margaret Burton Jobe, 91, beloved wife and mother, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 19, 2017 at HomePlace of Burlington.

She was the wife of the late Loyd Lee Jobe and was born to Homer and Kate Burton in Paris, Tn. She leaves behind two children, a son, David Jobe and wife Dot of Graham, and daughter, Susan Jobe Humphrey and husband Doug of Holly Springs; grandchildren, Amy and Sarah Humphrey and Dan Edwards and spouse, Angela; great-grandchildren, Jenny, James, Nick, and Dylan. She also leaves a sister, Carolyn Bennett and spouse, Billy of Louisville, KY.

She worked at a church in Forest City as church secretary, taught youth in Sunday School, and started a church library. She received a Masters of Religious Education from Southwestern Seminary in Dallas Tx. and met the love of her life, Loyd Jobe. She worked as Education Director at a church in McComb, MS. After she and Loyd were married, she taught the 8th grade in Arkansas. She came to Burlington when Loyd worked for Western Electric. At First Baptist Church of Burlington, she was a Sunday School teacher and active in WMU program. She retired from the Elon Library after 22 years of service.

On Sunday, October 1,2017 there will be a graveside service for family and friends at Pine Hill Cemetery at 4:00 PM with Dr. Terry Peele, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Burlington, officiating. Visitation will be at Margaret's home on Kimberly Rd, Burlington after the graveside service.
