Mary Madeline Hendrix

Mrs. Madeline Hendrix, of Burlington, died at the Alamance House on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at 5:29 a.m.

A native of Molena, GA, she was the wife of James “Billy” Edward Hendrix, who survives and the daughter of Roy Watts and Mae Wiggins Watts, both deceased. She was a former sales clerk with Sellars and retired from Belks. Madeline was a member of the Women of the Moose and loved traveling, gardening, bowling and her social life. She was an avid reader.

Survivors include two daughters, Hope Blehm and husband Matt of Clayton and Lisa Chrismon and husband Dale of Elon; a wonderful grandmother to five grandchildren, Erich, Matthew, Meagan, Ethan and Katelyn; sister, Annette Payne; brother, Lou Watts; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister and 2 brothers.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Ben Bishop with the family receiving friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Entombment will follow at the Mausoleum at Alamance Memorial Park. Other times they will be at the residence of Lisa and Dale Chrismon.
