Lisa Thompson Waddell, 58, of Elon passed away at the Hospice Home on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. after a year of declining health and 3 weeks of critical illness.
Born in Shreveport, LA and formerly a resident of Columbia, SC, she was the wife of Jim Waddell who survives and the daughter of Webster Eugene Thompson of Burlington, NC and the late Judy Plyer Thompson. She was retired from the South Carolina National Guard Federal Credit Union and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Elon.
In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by her beloved daughter, Christina Jones and her husband Jonathan of Blythewood, SC and three cherished grandchildren, Sara-Julia Hicks, Colin Jones and Anna-Beth Jones. In addition, she leaves behind numerous cherished friends from Columbia, SC, and Williamsburg, VA
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother, Randy Thompson.
A memorial service will be conducted at the First United Methodist Church on Westbrook Drive in Elon, NC on Thursday October 12th, 2017 at 6:00 P.M. by Pastor Keith Sexton with the family receiving friends following the service.
