Helen Ruth Seymour, 93, of Alamance, died on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Hospice Home of Burlington.

A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of Joe Seymour and Ruth Bostian Seymour, both deceased. She was a retired school teacher at E.M. Holt Elementary School and was a member of Alamance Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her sister, Johnnie Ann Heath and husband John of Beaufort, SC; her sister in law, Suzanne Millaway Seymour of Burlington; two nieces, Jo Ann Seymour Moss and husband Stanley of Burlington and Ruth Seymour Thompson and husband Dale of Omaha, Nebraska; three nephews, John Heath of Florida, Matthew Thompson of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Joseph Thompson and wife Marisa of Omaha, Nebraska; and one great niece, Zoë Thompson and one great nephew, Patrick Thompson, both of Omaha, Nebraska

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joe Seymour and two sisters, Frances Seymour and Juanita Seymour.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the Chapel of Alamance Lutheran Church with Pastor Bob Hawkins officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the Church Parlor at Alamance Lutheran Church.
