Mrs Dorothy Nealy Foster

Mrs. Dorothy Nealy Foster, 89, of Burlington, transitioned at White Oak Manor on Friday, January 5, 2018.

A native of Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of James P. Nealy and Bernice Brown Nealy, both deceased. Mrs. Foster was a retired nurse and loved to help people in need. She was a faithful member of True Community Christian Church and was also the eldest member of the church.

Survivors include two daughters, Rev. Dr. Jacqualyn C. McHenry and Patricia Cadlett, both of Burlington; granddaughter, Stephanie Sweat of Burlington; four great grandchildren, Jamar, DaZhawn, Jamila and D’Andre; four great-great-grandchildren, Kaylee , Kaylynn, Jasyn and Jaxyn; two brothers, Walter and Howard; and three sisters, Delores, Helen and Barbara. She was preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Jendayi; one brother, Thomas; and two sisters, Beatrice and Miriam

The funeral service will be conducted at Elon Community Church UCC at 12:00 pm Noon on Friday, January 12, 2018 with Rev. Randy Orwig officiating. The committal service will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:45 – 11:45 AM prior to the service at the church.
