Rev Donnie Nichols

Rev. Donnie Nichols, of Burlington, passed away at Duke University Medical Center on Friday July 14, 2017.

A native of Rock Hill, SC, he was the husband of Betsy Nichols and son of the late Charles Harrison Nichols and Frances Mary Johnson Dellinger. He was retired and a member of Canaanland Baptist Church.

Surviving, other than his wife of the home, are four sons, Daniel Gates, of the home, Michael Brock of Augusta, GA, Eric Nichols of Laurens Co., SC, and Jimmy Wilkes of Reidsville, NC; a daughter, Michelle Tidwell of Burlington; six grandchildren; two brothers, Dr. Larry Nichols and wife Marylin of Greensboro and Harold Nichols and wife Margie of Columbus, MS; a sister, Carol Butler and husband Wayne of Clinton, SC; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Tuesday, July 18, at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington with Dr. Larry Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 PM at Lakeview Memorial Park in Greensboro.

The family will receive friends from 11:45 – 12:45 prior to the service.
