Mr Carl Andrew Nicola

Carl Andrew Nicola, 54, of Gibsonville passed away at his residence on Monday, February 5, 2018 at 2:35 p.m.

Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, he was the son of Dr. Andraos N. Nicola and Theodora “Dora” Van Gennep Luhrs Nicola, both deceased.

Andrew attended NC State University and lived in the Raleigh area many years. He worked for Southern Energy Management while in Raleigh and more recently lived in the Gibsonville area and worked in grocery merchandising.

Andrew was known by many of his friends as always having a smile on his face and loved to spend time with friends and family. Andrew had a good heart and loved time spent with his great niece and nephews, Olive, Johnny, Silas and Finn. His passions included spending time outdoors hiking, rock climbing, canoeing and swimming and he also enjoyed music. He was a brother and inspiration to many. We will miss his smiling face and warm spirit.

Survivors include his brothers, Walid Nicola and wife Stephanie and Anwar Nicola and wife Monica; sister, Magda Nicola; and nieces and nephews, Adam Nicola and wife Katie, Brittney Nicola McHugh and husband John and Zayn Nicola.

A memorial service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. by Rev. Suzanne Shoffner.

Memorials may be made to any charity that benefits children.
