Betty H. Sigmon

Mrs. Betty H. Sigmon, 88, of Burlington died at the Coble Healthcare Center at Twin Lakes on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 10:08 p.m.

A native of Catawba County, she was the wife of the late Max Eugene Sigmon and the daughter of Harlie J. Hoke and Rachel Baldwin Hoke, both deceased. Mrs. Sigmon was a homemaker, avid gardener and loved to cook for her family. She was a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church where she was involved with the Women’s Group.

Survivors include two daughters, Suzanne Sigmon Lankford and husband Larry of Durham and Lucinda Sigmon Myers and husband Lee of Matthews; two grandchildren, Matthew Royce Myers and wife Allison of Charlotte and Rachel Amanda Myers of Matthews; great-grandson, Robert Royce Myers; great-granddaughter, Rachel Elizabeth Myers; two sisters, Virginia Hoke Sigmon and Jane Hoke Fischer; brother, Harlie J. Hoke, Jr; five nieces, Jill West, Andra Ostergard, Martha Spurlock, Emily Willingham and Laura Patton; and two nephews, James Brannock and Fred Brannock. She was preceded in death by a sister, Georgia Blanton Hoke and two sisters-in-law, Theresa Greene and Alice Mae Sigmon.

A graveside service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Conover, NC at a later date.
