Dr. Hal Webb, 85, of 2022 Stonebrook Drive, Mebane died at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill on Thursday, September 22, 2011.

A native of Broome County, NY, he was the husband of Nell Sue Webb, who survives and the son of George Richard Webb and Ada Mae Hull Webb, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during World War II under General Patton’s command. Dr. Webb was the founder and director of the Hal Webb Evangelistic Association and conducted evangelistic services throughout the world for over 70 years. He was a member of Stanfordville Baptist Church in Hallstead, PA.

In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include his daughter, Carol Webb Benge and husband David of Mebane; two sons, David Webb and wife Melanie of Homer, Alaska and Barry Webb and wife Cheryl of Rawlings, MD; six grandchildren, Lauren Cole, Jordan Benge, Tiffany Donnelly, Lauralee Webb, Bethany Herwalt and Rachel Smith; and four great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be conducted at Andrews Memorial Baptist Church, Graham, NC on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. by Rev. Phil Hunt with the family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Atmore, AL.
