July 19, 2010Haw River – Mr. David W. Smith, 36, of 4051 Cedar Hill Drive, Haw River died at UNC Hospitals at Chapel Hill on Monday, July 19, 2010. He was very well loved and will be missed greatly.
A native of Florence, SC, he was the son of Linda Byrd Smith, who survives. He was a butcher at Steve’s Garden Market in Graham and attended New Life Baptist Church, Roxboro, NC.
In addition to his mother, Linda of Mebane, survivors include one sister, Melissa Smith Tate of Mebane; a niece, Jessica Allison Tate; two nephews, Brandon David Tate and Caleb Isaac Tate; his beloved dog, “Little Daddy”; several aunts and uncles; and many longtime friends.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. by Rev. Brian Biggers and Rev. Mike Whitt. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Mebane.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence of his mother, Linda, 755 South Eighth Street, Mebane, NC.
