William Howard Hodge
July 20, 2010Mr. William Howard Hodge, 77, of 1410 Cleveland Avenue, Burlington and formerly of 560 Pinnix Road, Burlington died at the Hospice Home on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 11:20 p.m. following three days of critical illness.
A native of Orange County, he was the husband of the late Frances Hodge and the son of Wilbur Newton Hodge and Etta Tate Hodge, both deceased. He retired from Associated Transport and also worked for Tower Hosiery.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Hodge Wilson of Burlington and Sharon Hodge Evans of Graham; two step-children, Pat Dunnagan and husband Tommy of Burlington and Glenn Vicks and wife Starr of Thomasville; two grandchildren, Scott Hines and wife Stacey of Graham and Miranda Wilson of Burlington; four step-grandchildren, Chris Dunnagan of Burlington, Heather Vernon and husband Brian of Stokesdale, Derrick Vicks of Wilmington and Chad Hayes of Thomasville; great-grandchildren, Haley Lockwood of Burlington and Sarah Hines of Graham; two step-great-grandchildren, Summer Holmes and Thomas Vernon, both of Stokesdale; one sister, Eunice Hodge Bowman of Graham; numerous nieces and nephews; and his faithful companions, Arnold and Rex.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Lillian Martin and two brothers, Gilbert and Clarence Hodge.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. by Rev. Bennie Smith with the family greeting friends following the service. Other times they will be at the residence of Sharon Evans, 716 Wendy Drive, Graham, NC.
